I had the fabulous opportunity to video record my nephew while he performed so he could market himself online as a piano instructor. I recorded the video and sound with 2 cameras and a stereo channel Zoom recorder. https://vimeo.com/32190478. Then after the recording, we did some stills in the garage for a extreme low-light, artistic show. Of course, my favorite was the artistic image below.
Thanks, David, for the opportunity to do some work that is not the usual.

Baptism at the Beach
The shoreline at Shell Beach area is pretty unique as well as gorgeous. There is even a small calderon of ocean waves at the base of the long stairs to the water, a perfect place for a small baptism performed by Pastor John Frady. At one point, a friend of the baptismee (?) jumped into belly first to help celebrate. What a surprise splash for all the onlookers!

Video too!
Guest speaker at our church was Dean and Marilyn Braxton. Well, Mrs. Braxton did more than just speak, she also sang incredibly. My camera was up for a Father's Day event so I recorded Marilyn's solo also.

Everything is for the dogs...guide dogs
I was the event photographer for the Annual Animal Care Clinic Fundraiser and Wine Tasting in SLO on Sunday, June 12. There was a fabulous turnout and oodles of wine and items for the silent auction. Dr. Markoff's facility is gorgeous and it was obvious many people had worked very hard to prepare for this. All for 3 organizations: Guide Dogs of America, the American Cancer Society and Brighten a Corner.

Amidst the wind and surf of Morro Bay
Victoria and I met near her home in Arizona. I was thrilled when she contacted me to make arrangements for a photo session on the beach during their family vacation. As a worshipper with flags, Victoria chose to be the only one in the session while her children frolicked in the briney sand nearby.

Commercial Shoot for Ministry Team
Tribe of Judah is from San Bernardino though we have passed each other at several conferences. When they learned that they would be in my area, Santa Maria, we were both quick to schedule a pro photo session for their whole team. I love helping businesses and ministries look professional in their website, brochures, video, etc. We are in a visual age with great opportunities every where. Take advantage and make your brand and purpose clear.
After 5 changes of clothes and 4 locations with 11 people, we stopped as the sun was setting. Oh what fun we had!

Springtime in Portland
It rains a lot in Portland and everyone knows it. So green is the prominent color every where you look but beautifully soft pink of cherry blossoms floating through the sky like snow is the perfect contrast to the sea of green.

Every time I travel, I love to visit the pioneer cemeteries of the area if time permits. Well, I had a bit of time in Portland to practice a photo stitching project and the Lone Fir Cemetery was the perfect place. In order for photo stitching to work well, everything must hold still or use a tripod. It was raining off and on (typical Portland, so I skipped the tripod and shot quickly. Good thing not much moves in a cemetery. Here's sample of how it turned out.

Band performance and low light
Senior Portraits
The term "seniors" can mean many things. Among photographers, it typically means high school or college seniors but here I'm talking about the mature crowd of those over 55. Why do we stop getting family portraits when our children grow up? id we only want the images of our children? Of course we look different but we love each other and feel safe together so why not an occasion "senior" portrait. An anniversary gift, Christmas or simply because it's spring. A professional photo of the one you love is always special, even after 55.

Arizona Conference
I was thrilled to be the photographer/videographer for a worship conference outside of Phoenix, Arizona, in March. Because I focused on video footage, I have only a few stills but so many of those turned out great. Low light is a challenge but when it works out it I love it.

Video too?
Sometimes photographic stills just can't capture the impact of a moment like video, especially when there is timing to music. Below is an example of a video clip I captured at a recent conference.
I create a 3-5 minute video for each of my clients that showcases all the images from their photo session. This video is included in my session fee and is delivered on a DVD disk that plays on any DVD player. Here is such a session video done from a recent shoot.

Winter on the Beach
Yesterday late afternoon I had a wonderful family session with Patti and her son, Joshua, on the beach and today is it a pounding, freezing winter storm. I love the Central Coast winters with such variety. Joshua did a great job of directing us to a beach cove where the rocky cliffs blocked almost all the chilly wind. Oh, and the amazing backgrounds of multi-colored, edgy rock were great.

And great wildflowers beside the parking lot at the top of the cliffs.

Shooting in the Rain
Following a conference in Bakersfield, I had a photo session with conference vendor and friend, Nickol. She is an amazing woman, business owner and homeschooling mother of four. Because her and I do not live in the same county, this morning was our only opportunity for this photo session...so when it started to rain we did not stop. Under the trees, under an umbrella, she and her daughter and I just kept doing what we came to do. I think we were both surprised when the images still turned out great.

Prophetic Art
During the winter months I am able to devote a bit more time to art projects and shooting conferences but this winter was still very busy with family reunion sessions. I did manage to get in a few event photo sessions and here's a touch of that. These images are available to purchase on my website under ART FOR SALE.
